Reading the Work
From scattered admin decisions to a shared operating view
NimbusDB's enterprise customers were running more teams, environments, and data products through the platform, but administrators did not have a clear way to understand who had access, which workloads were driving cost, and where policy exceptions were starting to accumulate. Support teams were often pulled into routine access questions because customers lacked a shared view of their own operating posture.
Wolfcrest & Co. worked with product, security, customer success, and platform teams to design a governance workspace for data operations leaders. The experience brought permission requests, usage trends, query-cost signals, environment health, and policy notes into one place, giving customers enough context to make decisions before small issues became service tickets.
The work helped NimbusDB shift a high-touch administrative burden into a product capability customers could use themselves. Account teams gained better visibility into adoption patterns, administrators could resolve access and spend questions faster, and product leaders had a clearer path for expanding enterprise controls without cluttering the core developer experience.

Artifacts
Interface concepts from the operating model.
The screens demonstrate places where status, ownership, risk, or context could become easier for a team to read. They are not asserted as production client artifacts.

After Launch
Leave the Team Able to Run It
- Decision language the client team could reuse after launch.
- Workflow instrumentation that made improvement visible.
- A practical handoff model for the people closest to the work.
